As many of us prepare to enjoy the holidays with loved ones, taking a well-deserved break from our usual daily routines, it’s important to also recognize the dedicated men and women who work tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of our community every day. For our police officers and firefighters, as well as the EMTs, and other public safety personnel operated by Ada County, the holiday season is not a time to rest—it’s a time to remain steadfast in their commitment to protecting Meridian, day and night.
Our public safety teams are the people who make Meridian’s public safety services exceptional. These individuals work long hours, often sacrificing time with their families, to ensure that we can celebrate with ours. Their dedication exemplifies the values that define the Meridian way: customer service, accountability, respect, and excellence.
They are out in our community, ensuring that help is always a call away, no matter the time of year, no matter the holiday. If you have an accident on a snowy round-about in the middle of the night, they will be there. If there is an electrical issue that causes a fire, they will be there. If someone has trouble breathing and needs to get to the hospital, they will be there. From patrolling neighborhoods to responding to emergencies, they embody the very spirit of service that makes Meridian a premier place to live, work, and raise a family.
As we gather with friends and family this holiday season, let’s take a moment to appreciate the work of our public safety teams. If you see a police officer, firefighter, or EMT during your holiday errands, consider thanking them for their service. And as we look to the future, let us continue to support their success as they keep Meridian safe and thriving.
